On April 30, 2008 Finisia
and Jon were forced to "downsize" to the small "hay" wagon when one
of the 3 horses, Katie, was becoming lame during their 7 week and 700+ mile journey from
Shurz Nevada to Root Camp and Root Festival in Arco Idaho. Finisia had to leave
behind her larger "house" wagon and most of her belongings on a ranch
north of Tonopah. Finisia has long since become accustomed to these kinds of "bumps" in
the road and takes them in stride as she sees and accepts the "life
lessons" being offered her. She realized that she had slowly weighed down
her wagon and horses with too much STUFF acquired along her long trail, making it more
difficult for her horses to pull the load and follow the seasons of the
Hoop.
This is a lesson that many of us can
learn from, when our life is dominated, weighed down, cluttered and complicated
by TOO MUCH STUFF and the endless pursuit of getting MORE STUFF... when we are
really yearning to feel and be FREE & CLEAR.... Then maybe it's also time for us
to Downsize the load we are pulling behind us.
